We are a team of designers with a wealth of experience in luxury interior design. Su, Carl and Paul have worked internationally, specialising in luxury hospitality worldwide. Their joint experience extends to luxury hospitality projects, spas, high end residential, and hospitality led healthcare projects.
Throughout their careers each of the principals have worked extensively with key luxury brands including Six Senses Hotels and Resorts, Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts, Marriott International, The Corinthia Group and IHG. They are passionate about design and believe that each project whether a new build or historical restoration has a completely unique story to tell based on the property itself and the location.
The narrative of the project is inspired from a deep understanding of each property. The design process combines their wealth of knowledge and an inquisitive approach to design always creating a design that creates an emotional response with lasting memories.

MEET THE FOUNDERS AND THE TECHNICAL TEAM
SU DOGGETT - FOUNDER
Su has over 30 years of experience in hospitality design. Su graduated in New Zealand and moved to Australia working with Chadda Siembieda and Associates before locating to the UK. Su was more recently Executive Director – Global for the GA Design Group for 25 years.
During her time with GA Design, Su was an integral part of the management team growing the company to a global practice. She was principal designer on a variety of projects in Europe, Asia and the Middle East. She then joined HKS as Principal for Hospitality Interiors where she set up a specialist team of designers working on prestigious projects such as the Corinthia Maldives and Six Senses Les Bordes.
Prior to founding DS Studio, Su was the Global Director for Interior Design with Belmond. During her time with Belmond she was involved with the Villa Sant Andrea, Hotel Cap Juluca, La Samanna, Maroma, Grand Hotel Timeo and Castello di Casole.
Su Doggett is a Director of DS Studio, a team of leading interior designers working with an international clientele. Su has over 25 years of experience in hospitality design. Originally qualified at the Carrington Technical Institute New Zealand, Su moved to Australia working with Chhada Siembieda on a variety of resort and city centre hotels before moving to the UK. During Su’s time in the UK, she has worked for EAA, Richmond International and the G.A Group developing a significant portfolio of five-star luxury hotel developments worldwide. Her experience includes new build deluxe resorts and city hotels as well as refurbishment of five-star hotel developments including several historical listed properties.
Su believes good design comes from working closely with the client team to ensure the brief is clear. The ‘story line’ of the project can then be developed as a strong backbone to the design inspiration, providing design solutions that exceed client expectations. Su’s approach is to constantly push the boundaries of design, always exploring new ideas.
Su’s key clients include Langham Hotels International, Four Seasons Hotels, InterContinental Hotel Group, Fairmont Hotels & Resorts, the Hyatt Corporation and Starwood Hotels and Resorts Worldwide. Su was the principal in charge of the St. Regis Langkawi, which opened recently winning the ‘Best Hotel Interior Asia Pacific’ and ‘Best International Hotel Interior’ awards at the International Property Awards in 2016-2017. The St. Regis Osaka won the ‘Best Hotel Interior (Global)’ at the International Property Awards in 2014.

CARL SIMMONDS - FOUNDER
Carl Simmonds is a Director of DS Studio, a team of leading interior designers working with an international clientele.
Carl has over 25 years of experience in hospitality design. Carl has specialised in luxury hospitality design developing a variety of resort and city centre hotels and has worked for EAA, Richmond International and the G.A Group developing a significant portfolio of five-star luxury hotel developments worldwide. His experience includes new build deluxe resorts and city hotels as well as the refurbishment of five-star hotel developments.
Carl believes good design comes from working closely with the client team to ensure the brief is clear. The narrative of the project can then be developed as a strong backbone to the design inspiration, providing design solutions that exceed client expectations. Carl's approach is to ensure the design creates a memorable experience for the guest, creating an unforgettable experience.
Carl's key clients include Four Seasons Hotels, The InterContinental Hotel Group, The Corinthia Group, The Hyatt Corporation and Starwood Hotels and Resorts Worldwide. Carl was the principal in charge of the St Pancras Chambers Hotel which won the ‘Best Bar in a Hotel Renovation.’
